My message is a simple one. Taking a holistic approach to healthcare means accepting responsibility for managing our own health, looking at long-range consequences, searching for alternative and complementary solutions and never accepting a prescription or diagnosis without conducting further research.
Relinquishing our responsibility and simply medicating a symptom may, in the long run, do more harm than good by creating further imbalance in our physically and emotionally.
Wellness is a process of balancing our ever-changing physical and emotional states; a developing awareness that there is no end point, but that health and happiness are possible in each moment, here and now.
